The Norwegian Climate and Forest initiative was launched during the climate change negotiations at Bali in December 2007. The initiative seeks to achieve cost-effective and verifiable reductions in green house gas emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (REDD), and the working areas of the initiative include all types of tropical forests.
